SUMMARY: RE: REPOST - Session resource usage stats.
Posted in 1996
My original question is below sig.
It seems confirmed that it is not
possible to *directly* gain CPU usage
information for sessions in 7.x as they
are managed through the oninit
processes and nothing that I have been
able to discover in sysmaster gives you
this info.
I have been running with a combination
of scripts to detect high cpu usage
(like top in solaris) and high
read/writes within the RDBMS, available
from sysmaster:sysuserthreads.
This combination turns out to be
reasonably successful in identifying
resource pigs.
These are reasonably easy to construct
but if anyone wants a copy they can
e-mail me.
