Ollie, a recruiter for Spring IT Personnel, advertised a UK contract for Informix 4GL developers and DBAs with at least one year's experience, for a North West England telecoms client. Mike Segel mocked one year counting as specialist. Ollie said visa rules complicate hiring non-UK residents. Kgoozis noted EU citizens need no visas to work in EU countries.

I represent Spring IT Personnel, working on behalf of a telecommunication
company in the North West England.
I would like to hear from applicants with at least one-year's experience in
developing software applications using Informix 4GL, within the UK. I would
also like to hear from applicants with DBA experience again using Informix
4GL
Responsibilities include thoughtful analysis of business and technical
specifications, software development, unit testing and quality assurance
testing.
Should you be interested, then please reply to the email address below with
a copy of your up-to-date, detailed CV.

Wow!
It now takes only a year with a product to be a specialist?
I guess you get what you pay for.

My client doesnt have problems with non-UK resident, they were just getting
too much qualified candidate who cannot get work Visas. Although we would
consider them, the laws prohibit us from getting them working here without
going through the time-hassling channels.
