Re: Delphi 2.01 and Informix 7.x

Here are a few suggestions to check: 1. Read your release notes to see if your server supports streams, TCP/IP, etc. 2. Go into your sqlhosts file on the server to make certain that you have a remote connection defined. (See Admin. Guide 1 for NETTYPE, services, and host definitions in sqlhosts). 3. If you add a remote connection definition in your sqlhosts file (make certain your server is down!)... then add the name to your onconfig file as a DBSERVERALIAS. 4. Make certain you can ping the host from your PC... if you are using I-Net, test the connection with ilogin. Again, this info is clearer in the manual. If you have any questions as to how it works; I will go into more details. I've set this up for Powerbuilder, IQ, and other PC applications for Sun/NCR connections.
