Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

We out here in our environment are going towards implementing NTP (Network
Time Protocol)
We are however concerned with the impact the changing of time will have on
the Informix database and its operation. In an online evironment the time
server and clients should not be out ot sync more than a second (this
assuming the hardware clock is working properly). If however the client
looses connectivity for an extended period it could result in the time being
changed by more than a second. Our questions to you are:
1) How will informix react to the change in time?
2) How will this affect a replication setup (as we intend to deploy on all
machines)?
3) Are there any "best practices" set out by Informix for the deployment of
Informix in a NTP environment?
Please, provide any feedback that you can give.
regards...
