We ve an IDS v7.3 on Solaris Unix. I want to user accessibility to tables based on Roles. I've attempted to ceate a Role and add user but still user can't access the table but a different table which I didn't define in thr Role. here are te comands are I've used: 1. GRANT CONNECT TO Public 2. GRANT CONNECT TO user2 3. CREATE ROLE rol_select 4. GRANT Select ON table1,table2,table4 TO rol_select 5. GRANT rol_sel TO user2 6. SET ROLE rol_select Is there a problem here? okg

This syntaxt is not supported. You have to grant on one table per sentence:
GRANT Select ON table1 TO rol_select
GRANT Select ON table2 TO rol_selectetc
Hi,
I did add the tables one at a time but still user can't access some of
the tables. does't have to do with table ownership? I'm using Informix
user (the dba) but some of those tables are owned by another user. I
think DBA can GRANT access to any table to anyone..
