Restricting access to INFORMIX tables from Microsoft Access

Hi, Is there a way to restrict updates/inserts/deletes from Microsoft Access to the Informix database? Currently our configuration is : Backend --------- Informix 7.23.UC5 Frontend --------- Informix CLI (2.5 ??) Microsoft Access Windows 95. Is there any other ODBC which would allow READ ONLY Access to the to the Informix database on the backend ?. Informix CLI allows updates.
