Adding Disk Space To Informix 5.0

We are using informix 5.0 and HP/UX. We have a raw 1 gigabyte drive and made it the root dbs. We would like to span tables over many drives to speed up query access and table joins. But this doesn't seem possible. Can this be done? If you give informix another gigabyte as a chunk, will informix move out tables itself? Sorry for the simple questions, I'm an informix sql programmer, not a DBA administrator. Thanks in advance for any replies! Regards, Michael Mstowski msm@spaceworks.com
