One thing that I would like to see implemented in informix is a data dictionary. To be specific, when I create a table, there should be a comment field that is mandatory to fill in that describes the purpose and meaning of this table. Then also the same thing for each field that is created in the table. My current remedy for this is what most people do, name your fields and tables close to the meaning of their purpose. Also, I keep a data dictionary in HTML format on my development server. The hassle is when I change a table, I must go to my HTML files and make the same change there.
