I think that means why are you going to IDS 9.2?? unless you are confusing that with Oracle 9.2 (current) you should be well past IDS 9.2 if you are running on solaris. ... unless you are trapped by a software app on top of informix. try IDS 9.4 instead. Check IBM web...
