Well, some of your best information will come from Real Users, ie: the fine folks here in c.d.i and their Oracle brethren. You can check out the Gartner reports if you're looking for something vague and yet good looking to show to management, but I'd suggest that specific questions might give you the realistic information you'd like. What do you intend to do with your database? By that, I mean: o Required availability level o Size of data (in gig) o Type of applications accessing that data o Color of SQL used o Management tools required o Performance concerns Alright, maybe not color, but a little more information would help. Of course, I'm betting that the folks in c.d.i will recommend Informix, and likewise for the Oracle folks (they'd recommend Oracle, that is, not Infomix). But shoot us some specifics (and specific questions) why don't cha? -Richard
