The implementation of the trigger code and stored procedure code are almost identical. I imagine the only difference is that the stored procedure must be explicitely executed or called from a trigger while the trigger fires when it's triggering event occurs. It really comes down to whether you need manual or automatic action. If both program the stored procedure for manual executions and call it from the trigger for automated firing. Art S. Kagel
