Hi Guys, I have 1 IDS ver. 10.00.UC5 - Central Instance and 250 PostgreSQL Instances - Remotes. We need to check data replication every day but wee use different Graphical Tools to make this tasks. I want to use SQL shell/scripts to make this data verification/check but I don't know how connect to PostgreSQL using IDS instance to get it. Some one out there has been made something similar? Regards,
Hi Cesar, I do not understand why you want to make the verification on postgresql using IDS 10. For me it make more sense to use psql to execute the scripts against each postgres database. I have this opinion because: - In both options (using hypothetical ids connection or direct psql connection) the postgresql databases should be accessible from your machine. - Using ids connection you are putting more work on top of IDS without any specific gain. - If you want to use shell scripts that connect using SQL you do not need only one point of contact However if you still want to do it, the only way I see is using C or Java UDR that connect to the postgresql instances. In both options to use generic sql you need to do it using database metadata of JDBC or C (libpq or ecpg) and receive the postgresql SQL querys as UDR parameters. Hope to have helped. Sérgio
