In other : words i need to be able to scroll : and modify rows which are only used. My favorite method of disabling insert and delete keys is to set them to CONTROL-Q: OPTIONS INSERT KEY CONTROL-Q OPTIONS DELETE KEY CONTROL-Q Since CONTROL-Q is trapped by the Unix OS as xon, nothing is passed to the program even if the user hits the key. Trapping exceeding array boundries is a bit trickier, utilizing the "goto" trick of putting the INPUT ARRAY in a WHILE loop so you can go back to row 1 if the user goes past the last filled-in row. This is well documented in the FAQs, or ask me and I'll dig out an example for you. ======================================================================= Dennis J.
