You need to be much clearer about what you are trying to do. Is anything else running and accessing the database when ISQL runs into the problem? You could also be running into the problem that if you have a C-ISAM program that is accessing the database, the ISQL program (which uses SE) will be locked out by the C-ISAM program if the C-ISAM program places locks, because the C-ISAM program and the SE are separate processes. This can lead to unexpected contention -- the C-ISAM/SE system treats those processes as competitors, not as members of a cooperative.
