Change in sqlhost file

Dear All, I am working on informix7.30UC7. Using ODBC connectivity I am able to connect to my database which is for test environment, where m/c hostname and hostname in sqlhost is same. But on live environment ( which is a different server altogether ) connectivity is not getting established b'oz m/c hostname and hostname in sqlhost file are different. I tried to change the hostname in sqlhost file but unable to up the database. How to change hostname in sqlhost file with database getting online. My solaris M/c hostname is : dataerp and sqlhost file is ruturaj ontlitcp dataerp1 infserv m=1 After changing the hostname in sqlhost file is there any danger of database corruption?
