Re: Do I need a new version of SE/SQL when moving to a dual processor

Kate, Adding my tuppence worth to Mr. Outrageous's remarks, I think not. About a year ago, without giving it a second thought, I upgraded our Altos 15000 to a 2 x 486/ 60 processor with 32 M ram, running SCO 3.2.4 ODT and reinstalled our Informix SE 5+. No problema. I don't think Informix licenses by processor, but rather by users. Our machine is a two- , i.e. asymetric, not truly dual-processor system. SE really doesn't take advantage of multiprocessing; only the later, greater Informix engines are designed for multiprocessing.
