Don't create a mess based on product names or codes: http://www-01.ibm.com/common/ssi/cgi-bin/ssialias?infotype=AN&subtype=CA&htmlfid=897/ENUS206-337&appname=USN In this case, Alphablox was included in a solution with Informix. The name may have DB2 in it for historical (brand name) reasons. Last time I checked Alphablox could access OLTP systems, although that was not it's main purpose.
