Baan and Informix
Posted in 1999
Hi all We work with HP UX 10.20, Informix 7.31 UC2 and Baan Triton 3.1_a1. The Informix tables with Baan uses fields named 'hash'. These fields are the index of the tables. Each field 'hash' are built from the combination of the 'real' fields. For example Table A Fields a, b, c, d, e Index1= (a,b) -> hash1 The fields hash always are strings. It's possible to 'read' the records from another application out of Baan. Also it's possible to modify the fields if they don't make any index. It's possible to delete records. But it's impossible to insert records and it's impossible to modify the fields if they make any index. In the example I can modify field c, d and e but I can't modify field a or b. Really I can do all things but Baan don't see the inserts and the modifies of the index fields. So I can't do it. The only way to do it is built the field hash correctly. To do this I need the algorithm that Baan uses. I know some of this algorithm: in the example if 'a' is a string(3) and 'b' string(9), hash1 is a string(12) and a="ABC" and b="DEFGHIJKL" then hash1="ABCDEFGHIJKL"... a very simple algorithm :) I have problems with no char fields. I need the fields hash because Baan for Triton 3.1_a1 only have driver level 1 for Informix. I know that for Baan IV they have 2 levels and the second level don't need the hash fields. I can't use the level 2 for Triton 3.1_a1 :( Someone knows something about it? Thanks in advance for any help you can give. DJMoralesM dmorales@giro.es diego_morales@hotmail.com
