Hi Nigel,
I also had a problem "Not Owner" and the access rigths on the directory were
ok. It was not with creating a temp table but with set explain on. Maybe,
the reason is the same.
Here is what you should verify:
Cehck the ownership and access rights of th Informix binaries (in
$INFORMIXDIR/bin). Some of them shuold be root/informix and have a sticky
bit set. The information about the correct owner/group and access rights can
be found in a file called $INFORMIXDIR/etc/onlinefiles (or similar).
