A user planning an Informix upgrade from 10.00 to 11.50 on AIX 5.3 asked about risks beyond those in the migration guide/machine notes, especially performance regressions. The only issue reported was that a small number of queries may pick different query plans after the upgrade. A follow-up question about compiler/SDK dependencies was answered: CSDK 3.50 is recommended to support the new features, available from the free trial download pages. No deeper problems or detailed troubleshooting were discussed.

Hi guys
We are about to do an informix version upgrade from 10.00 to 11.50 on AIX 5.3.
I would just like to know if there are any major/minor risks that we should
take note of, other than those mentioned in the Informix migration
guide/machine notes? Have any of you experiance any major performance problems
after an upgrade? If so what were these problems? Thanks in advance :)

There is always a chance that a small number of queries may choose a
different query plan. This is about the only problem I've seen.

CSDK V3.50 is recommended to support new features. On the free trial pages.
