Hi,
like the use of English words in German vocabulary
is called "Anglizismus" (or "anglicism"), this is the
corrsponding thing in English, probably called
"germanism" (to coin a phrase ... :)
There are many examples for "germanisms" in the
English language (where the English language in
general is adopting many words from other languages
with increasing rate).
Some prominent examples are:
- kindergarden (from "Kindergarten")
- zeitgeist
- angst
- ueber... (as in "Jack Welch was an ueber-boss")
- schlepp (from "schleppen")
I'm always amused when reading such words in
english-language publications, but unfortunately I
keep forgetting them ...
Cheers,
Martin

Yup. There is a lot of those. Also some really old ones
like Eigenvector and Eigenvalue in math.
One of the cutest things I ever heard (it was in New York)
was the term 'hasi' (little bunny) for a male homesexual.
Cheers,
Dirk
