RE: High Performance Loader.........

You can create a "mknod" file (man mknod), which will act as the pipe, and feed the target table from there. But why don't you do a straight table-to-table transfer ? You don't specify your Informix / OS versions, but if transaction logging / size is your problem, you can make use of raw tables. You will probably find quite a couple of ways of doing this ... -----Original Message----- From: Abraham Kirubakaran [mailto:bull_informix@yahoo.com] Sent: Monday, November 10, 2003 5:25 PM To: informix-list@iiug.org Subject: High Performance Loader......... I have a requirement where, I need to load a table into database b with data from a table in database b. Both the databases are in the same instance. I want to do this without landing the data anywhere,(ie start the load job which calls the unload job and the data just flows through the pipe). I you know how to setup the devices such that this could be done, do let me know. Thanks, Abraham __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Protect your identity with Yahoo!
