If you look for the best technology, ODBC could or could not be the best solution, but it depends on what you expect. the pros and cons: Pros: ODBC 'should' provide you the possibility to be independant from a specific middleware or database. My experience tells that it is not always true! So test before making a choice. Cons: ODBC adds a layer between your client application and your middleware.
