Centura - Informix

Hallo, I have two questions about Informix - Centura : 1. Centura ' Informix On SAM_AppStartup : Connect Sql-handle to local database Informix Dynamic Server Version 7.30.UC3 on Unix Release 5.44 Version C1012. When I need a patient-ID, I have to connect a second Sql-handle to another database Informix Dynamic Server Version 7.30.TC5 on NT4.0 Service Pack 3. When this second database is unreachable (network out, database off-line, ..) I must be able to continue working on the local database. This is not possible ! The local sql-handle is still connected to the local database (visible via onstat 'u) and has still a value of "1H", but every select-statement gets an error : "-1803 : Connection does not exist" or "Database not selected yet". 2. Is it possible to check if a SalConnect is ok to an Informix database ? If you have an idea, please let us know. Thanks , Franky Thiel Infohos@unicall.be
