JDBC: IUS-driver not correct ?
Posted in 1998
Hello, i am trying to connect to IUS ( = IDS/UD) via JDBC and the direct-jdbc-driver that comes with the IUS. I have some problems with this, perhaps you have some answers ? Versions used: server: IUS913UC1 for Solaris client: connect/clientsdk2.00TC1 on WinNT 1) In a Java-Documentation i found the lines ... resultset.close(); statment.close(); that should what they are named like. The closing of the resultset ist not necessary because it will be closed automaticaly by closing the statement. Anyway it should work in both cases. But: The informix-driver throws a null-exception when closing the statement, because the result set is already closed. Is this JDBC-conform ? 2) When installing a Java-Application on Windows95 that i have developed and tested on WinNT the JDBC-Driver pops up many different MI-error-message-requester. Under NT it worked fine. (I do not have the error-message and the win95-PC here, but will post them later if needed -- not the PC). Is there a difference between Win95 and NT4.0 using the JDBC-driver ? 3) Because of the problems in 2) i decided to test the RMI-remote-driver. After installing and configurating all needed things (as i think), the RMI-driver on client-side reported the following (i wonder about the "Local class not compatible-error message"): DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:informix-api-remote:rmi://<I HAVE DELETED THIS PARAMETERS>) trying driver[className=informix.api.jdbc.JDBCDriver,context=null,informix.api.jdbc.JDBCDriver@1ea79c] informix.api.jdbc.JDBCException: Error unmarshaling return; nested exception is: java.io.InvalidClassException: informix.api.remote.rmi.server.ConnectionImpl; Local class not compatible at informix.api.jdbc.JDBCConnection.<init>(JDBCConnection.java:33) at informix.api.jdbc.JDBCDriver.connect(JDBCDriver.java:104) at java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(DriverManager.java:91) at java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(DriverManager.java:133) ... Did anybody manage to connect via RMI ? Is there something important to pay attention to ? 4) At last i tested the JDBC-ODBC-Bridge from Intersolv with the Intersolv-ODBC-driver 3.01 32-BIT INFORMIX. Again some errors occured (listed below) after some queries and results have been transmitted well. Is there a good (complete) documentation of all this things ? I do not know what else to do or to ask. Free statement (SQLFreeStmt), hStmt=30745776, fOption=0 Executing (SQLExecDirect), hStmt=30745776, szSqlStr=execute function ccnConConChPrepTab('ccntemptabcon','1', 1 ) Number of result columns (SQLNumResultCols), hStmt=30745776 value=1 Number of result columns (SQLNumResultCols), hStmt=30745776 value=1 Fetching (SQLFetch), hStmt=30745776 RETCODE = -1 ERROR - Generating SQLException... Which one is the correct path ? * informix\\lib\\java\\lib\\classes * informix\\lib\\classes Thank you if you have read until here :| Ciao, Gert.
