A followup. I've received a couple of emails from one Jonathan A. Chandross (jac@openix.com) who says that I shouldn't tell spammers to X-No-Archive because it makes it easier for him to make lists of the posts to complain. BULLSHIT! Lists can be compiled from the group. DEJANEWS is a good reference tool and has become plagued by the Job Postings garbage. It's bad enough that it is in the newsgroup to begin with, to have it perpetuate in DEJANEWS is insane. At least in the newsgroup, it expires after awhile. Then Jonathan had the balls to tell me: "And you ought to be more appreciative since without the efforts of people like me the group would be full of psam." Thank you for saving the world Jonathan, but you're not the only person who fights SPAM/UCE and you're not the only one who suffers because of it. To tell me "I ought to be more appreciative" well screw you. If you do something because you believe it's right, you don't tell people you're 'doing it for' that they should appreciate you. Your 'look at me, I fight spam' attitude sucks. BTW, if my email to you didn't make it clear: Don't email me again on this issue. I posted it to the group to DISCUSS IT IN THE GROUP. DEJANews as a research tool to _ME_ is looking up how others have done something in INFORMIX (or whatever) NOT a tool for collecting evidence of SPAM. -- gburnore@databasix dot com or gburnore@netcom dot com --------------------------------------------------------------------------- How you look depends on where you go. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gary L.
