RE: online backup of 9.21 with onbar ?
Posted in 2004
A backup produced by ontape, or onbar, includes backing up the current
logs. This means that recovery is possible to the time that the log
started. After all, once the restore is completed it goes through
recovery which rolls back incomplete transactions. So, the backup is
consistent.
You will suffer without log backup in that you will not be able to do
partial restores, and,if using onbar, you won't be able to do
Point-in-time restore.

If you dont you will have a crappy backup that is inconsistent.
