Accessing logging DD from non-logging

I have not worked much with logging DB's, and the FAQ doesn't mention address my question, so maybe someone could help enlighten me a little. I have a non-logging database. I am building a new logging database, which will reside under a seperate instance of OL, on a different machine. I want to be able to access data residing under one of the instances, from the other. At this point I don't believe it will matter which instance (logging or non) I am accessing from, just that I be able to query for data on the other. Can this be done?? My limited tests are showing that it can't. Please tell me it is possible, then tell me how. I'm running Online DSA 7.10 on both systems, using 4GL and ESQL/C.
