OK, I'll bite. Given the right circumstances/requirements there can be no argument against lower cost PC's/NT. The possibilities are endless. With that said... Regarding stability, a number of our HP9000 Informix servers ran for 3 years without a boot - and then only for a Data Center power down. PC's are getting faster, but regarding outperforming an 8-processor HP system, there's got to be more to that equation. I liked your statement on the political standpoint of it being easier to stipulate single app NT systems than Unix server systems.
