scale and precision of columns after describe

Hello, I am writing an ESQL/C program which examines the sqlvar structs in a sqlda after a DESCRIBE, and am interested in finding out the scale and precision of the columns being sent back. Finding out this information seems well documented for the system descriptor area, but I can't seem to find anything similar for the sqlda struct. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Dave
