Re: Severity Levels for Error Codes
Posted in 1997
Although we don't use ESQL/C the issues are about the same whatever the language is. We do this relatively simply by handling spesific errors (locking related and others) doing retries or whatever else is appropriate. All other errors are logged and reported to the dba. The user of the application is informed that he should not use it for any purpose until he has talked to the dba. On interactive aplications we tell the user this very explisitly and leaves him in a state where he can not do anything more except terminate the application. georg@cyberdude.com (Georg Winkens) wrote: :Has anybody experience in categorising Informix error codes into a kind :of severity levels?
