Re: cleanly shutting down sqlexecd for Informix SE on Linux

Using recycled bits, Nick Yang pleaded: %Hi, I'm also running Informix SE engin on Linux, and I am getting a ton of %zombie sqlexec processes %in the system. Is there a safe way to clean up the sqlexec zombie %processes? I heard once of a program named "reapzombie" that would loop through your process table and clean up zombie processes. This isn't a recommendation, just a suggestion. To get rid of sqlexec zombies, 1. Make absolutely sure there are no active sqlexec processes. 2. Kill and restart sqlexecd - so long as there are no active sqlexec processes running, this should not present a problem. sqlexecd simply listens on a port and kicks off a sqlexec processes to service those requests. -- Kurt Wall Informix on Linux FAQ: http://www.users.uswest.net/~kwall/iolfaq.html
