How to fix "cc: Not enough user virtual memory (5707)"

I am using Informix 5.03 [Online and ESQL/C] on a hp-ux 9.05 system. Very often I am not able to compile by esql/c source code. I get the error.. esql -Aa -DHP -I. -I/usr/informix/incl/esql -I/usr/database/include -c test.c cc: Not enough user virtual memory (5707) how can I fix this problem?
