Storage Managers for onbar

Hello to all.
My last post to this forum dealt with using ontape to perform archives to
disk. My management decided that no point in time restores with ontape is too
much of a sacrifice and said we needed to continue using onbar. We have used
BMC's SQL-BackTrack (now known as Recovery Manager) for many years and it has
performed very well for us. Unfortunately, our cost-conscious company wants to
stop paying for BMC maintenance (across the board - mainframe, midrange, etc.)
I see three possible alternatives: keep running SQL-BackTrack without support
(we own permanent licenses), continue to pay for BMC support just for the
SQL-BackTrack bit, or find another storage manager. Due to the limitations of
ISM, it is not an alternative. In the event we do not continue using
SQL-BackTrack, I will need to find another storage manager.
I looked through the IIUG and Google to get an idea of what storage managers
are available and I even contacted our IBM sales rep. The list from IBM is
very short and does not include some storage managers I am aware of (like
SQL-BackTrack, Legato Networker, etc.)
I realize this is a wide open and subjective question, but does anyone have a
recommendation for a storage manager for onbar? We will back up to disk and we
are running IDS 7.31 and 9.40 on AIX 5.2 and 5.3, Solaris 8 and 10, and HPUX
11.11.
Any help or direction will be appreciated.
Thanks

Hello Rob,
The following link provides information on the available list of
SMV's and their compatibility information with IDS.
http://www-01.ibm.com/software/data/informix/ids/interop/smv/
The web page also has instructions for navigation that will lead you to
the support matrices of EMC ( Legato ) Networker and BMC SQLBackTrack (
now Recovery Manager ).
Hope the link has the information you are in search of. Please revert back
in case you need further information
