DBMONEY error ?
Posted in 1998
Hello! We are working with: - INFORMIX-SQL Version 5.10.UC1 - INFORMIX-4GL Version 4.00.UC2 Pcode Version 7 Under SCO Open Server 5.0.4 In $INFORMIXDIR/release/SQLRDOC_5.0 F. Chapter 4, DBMONEY environment variable Users should note that DBMONEY specifies the display format for the data types money, decimal and float. Hence, setting DBMONEY to $ will cause columns defined as decimal to be also displayed with a comma separator. In $INFORMIXDIR/release/SQLTDOC_5.0 B. Chapter 9, MONEY data type The DBMONEY environment variable specifies the display format for the data types money, decimal and float. Assuming the text above. 1) Do you think the following is a normal behaviour? It seems to be so. DBMONEY=, ; export DBMONEY input (form without using) field dec(5) 4.35 -> 4.35 4,35 -> 435.00 input (form with using "--,---") 4,35 -> ***** 4.35 -> 4,350 input (form with using "--.---") 4,35 -> ***** 4.35 -> 4,350 It seems , is ignored as a decimal separator. Only the point is taken as decimal separator. This behaviour creates an assymmetry between input and output. You have to input . and you will see , as decimal separator. Is this correct ? Is any other shell variable that fix this problem? Do I have to upgrade ? Any FAQ, suggesstion Thanks in advance -- Evelio Mart'nez Telf: +34 96 374-47-02 Fax: +34 96 374-47-03 e-mail: programacionaf@sinix.net
