The (arguably less-than-intelligent) ESQL/C preprocessor is not seeing your
#define; it doesn't understand #define. To eliminate that error, you'd need
to use $define instead - which, granted, may lead to other
undesirable consequences.

ESQL/C does not understand C++; it is unlikely that this construct will ever
ben understood, at least until/if ESQL/C is every upgraded to ESQL/C++.
Guess that's another item for Tim Shaefer's list.
