Cannot open file citoxmsg

Hi folks, I've a vb5 application off an Informix database. Anytime I try to connect to the database I get the following error. "-1829. Cannot open file citoxmsg.pam The file citoxmsg.pam is missing from the directory $INFORMIXDIR/msg" I've made a search for this file but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Any ideas? WinNT4 SP4 VB5 INTERSOLV ODBC v3.11 drivers INFORMIX v7.31. Thanks, Michael.

Try creating an empty file in the $INFORMIXDIR/msg with the name citoxmsg.pam this may cause the error message to disappear, but may in future come up with another error message that some error number was not found. All error message files whether created by the user or those of Informix should be in a path known to the programs, "MSGPTH" the default is $INFORMIXDIR/msg. I ran into a similar problem with another 4GL program and got the advice to link the "itoxmsg.pam" (which _should_ be in the $INFORMIXDIR/msg directory) to "citoxmsg.pam". Axel
