Through a VPN, how to connect to a test database in office's LAN environment from a java/angular application running on a home computer from home/residence
Neville Monteiro asked how to connect a home java/angular app over VPN to an Informix test database in the office LAN. Art Kagel said once the VPN opens the firewall it works as in the office. Neville confirmed the server IP and port were allowed in the VPN policy. Everett Mills warned about unconfigured routes to the server subnet.

Once the VPN has opened the firewall, connecting should be the same as if you were inside the firewall and in the office.

OK. Thank you, Sir.
The IP address of the system on which the informix database server is running and the port number of the informix instance was allowed in the VPN policy also.
Thank you very much, Sir.

The only problem we've had doing this type of thing is when the network route from the VPN to the subnet containing the server is firewalled or not configured. I've had to bark at a network guy or two for that.
