SQL - DISTINCT V GROUPBY
Does anyone out there know which is the most efficient:
SELECT account_number
FROM account_table
GROUP BY account_number;
or
SELECT DISTINCT(account_number)
FROM account_table;
I wonder if anyone has benchmarked it and found one quicker than the
other. I would also be interested to know if the engine does anything
different for DISTINCT or GROUP BY.
