Re: Do you need a "on every row" or "on last row"?
For those of you interested in the other ACE bugs I have come across,
here are two entries from my bug files:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bug #: 13710 May 18, 1993
Scheduled fix in engine 5.01.UD1
A single character pulled from a field in a table and renamed loses its
value when put into a temp table (it works if it is followed by a
character column containing information):
database vth end
select description, description[1,1] renamed_desc
from bill_mode
into temp bug1;
select * from bug1
end
format every row end
But the following works (no temp table):
database vth end
select description, description[1,1] renamed_desc
from bill_mode
end
format every row end
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bug number: 11569 Date: July 7, 1993
database vth end
select checkout_date { Note: Checkout_Date is a datetime variable }
from invoice
where invoice_status = "K"
end
format
on every row
print checkout_date using "mm/dd/yyyy"
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Causes segmentation fault, core dump
When used with a datetime variable
end
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Feature Request: 2027 September 1993
The new concatenation feature available in the 5.0 engine for select
statements, does not work in select statements in ACE. (I personally
consider this a bug since it should work in ALL select statments.)
If you are unfamiliar with this feature, it is:
select first_name || " " || last_name
from owner
Where the double pipes (||) concatenate the indicated strings together.
