You can't stop DBAs!!! ** ********************************************************** If you don't want a user to do something, that user had better not be a DBA. DBAs are, by definition, trusted users. >(2) prevent the creator of a table/view from updating that table/view? No. The owner of a table may drop the table at any time. The owner of a table may do anything with that table. If you don't want someone fiddling with a table, they had better not own that table. If you need to change the table ownership, you can update the Systables.Owner column as informix (all releases) and as person who created database (DBA with priority 9) in pre-4.0 releases. WARNING: I don't know whether this is officially approved by Informix -- but it normally works. Yours, Jonathan Leffler (johnl@obelix.informix.com)
