Hi all,
I need to ascii unload tables but have limited tape / no disk space on
the UNIX host running Online 5.0.3.
I have plenty of disk on another UNIX host (not running Informix) and
I would like to "resh" the output of the cronned isql unload to files on
the 2nd
UNIX host. Disk and host permissions are established and tested,
what I can't work out is the syntax for the remote shell output.
My script is as follows
cat /home/fred/bin/tabs_file|while read tabname; do
isql - - <<!! | dd if=/dev/unl_pipe of=`resh host2 > /work/$tabname.dat`
database test;
unload to /dev/unl_pipe
select * from $tabname!!
Can anyone point me in the right direction here as I am a tad pressed for
time.
many thanks,
rgds,
Damian.
