Re: 4GL legacy -> GUI C++ or Java ?

Dynamic-4GL is a good interim step to take that is definitely worth taking a look at. It gives you a GUI look in a thin-client interface. Converting to another language is costly and often requires re-training of programmers, especially to an object oriented language. Another strength of Dynamic-4GL is that it runs on Unix, NT and Linux operating systems. Dynamic-4GL can give you an immediate GUI look for the short term, then convert your application to another language for the long-term. We started converting our 4GL legacy to Java until Dynamic-4GL was introduced. We still plan to go to Java in the long-term but are concentrating on the Dynamic-4GL for now.
