Also, which version of DBI, DBD::Informix? And was there a particular reason why you didn't contact the dbi-users mailing list for help? I don't recall seeing your name in any emails helping with install problems, but I could be suffering from a defective memory (as well as rose-tinted spectacles when thinking about the ease of compilation of DBD::Informix).
