Thanks go to everyone who participated in my query. Management agreed to the upgrade. :-) ----- Original Message ---- From: "Priest, Darryl" <darryl.priest@dlapiper.com> To: informix-list@iiug.org Sent: Friday, August 10, 2007 7:50:43 AM Subject: RE: Why should I upgrade my 7.31 instance to 9.4 or 10.0 DIV { MARGIN:0px;} We did an upgrade similar to this a while ago. I don't recall the exact versions but we are on Tools 8.48 now and the move from Informix 7.31 to 9.4 did improve performance noticeably. The upgrade should improve performance. If users aren't complaining about performance yet, nuke a couple of indexes, and tell the users the application has outgrown the database server and it needs to be upgraded ;-) -- Carsten Haese http://informixdb.sourceforge.net _______________________________________________ Informix-list mailing list Informix-list@iiug.org http://www.iiug.org/mailman/listinfo/informix-list _____________________________________________________________________________________ The information contained in this email may be confidential and/or legally privileged.
