RE: HDR problem with Windows

Hi, Ben,
Please, check the fillowing:
- Are you able to connect from 'informix' windows session
on Secondary machine to Primary database server without password?
With password? From Primary to Secondary?
- Did you create the hosts.equiv file under
C:\\winnt\\system32\\drivers\\etc
on both machines (file format should be same, as on UNIX)?

Thanks for your help. "hosts.equiv" is/was set as follows on both machines:
+
server1
server2
informix@server1
informix@server2
We can connect from one to the other with no password. However the
secondary machine is in quiescent mode.
To answer Guy's question I have posted the whole ONCONFIG file below,
ROOTPATH is just a few lines down. Looking at it again myself, could our
NETTYPE be the problem? I guess it must be OK though as clients can
connect to the main server without issues.

You've moved the root dbspace to D:\\IFMXDATA\\ol_server1 on ol_server2 as
well right?
> NUMAIOVPS 4 # Number of IO vps
Not relevant to your problem, but this seems a bit high on Windows which
uses KAIO unless you're doing lots of sqexplain type logging.

Yes, the directory name is the same on both servers. That is to say
server2 has a ol_server1 directory and the files in exactly the same
location. If it didn't I don't think the archive would restore correctly.

It's mostly there for things like that and the online log. I'm told AIO
VPs don't consume many resources simply by being there. 1 or 2 would
probably be enough for most of the time I agree.
