Market share, integration with other products

I have seen articles where Informix claims that it has a larger market share on UNIX platforms that Oracle, Sybase, and Ingres. But then Oracle claims to have the lead in DBMS market share. Can someone elaborate on the meaning of this? Does Informix actually have a large installed base than Oracle on UNIX systems? Can someone give a break down per hardware platform, ie. market share on IBM, DEC, HP, Sun, etc.? It seems like Informix has taken an approach where they are willing to work with other vendors on integrating their products together. I know Informix works with Wingz, but can someone provide a list of products that work with Informix?
