I've seen that same behaveour once: a BaanIV installation with Informix took 5 days! to end. It wasn't normal and the problem was due to a bad parameter in 'inf_storage' file. Since your configuration uses separated dbspaces for data and indexes, you must have two diferent lines in 'inf_storage' file each defining parameters for the Baan creation of data and index tables. Check in the 'Informix installation for BaanIV' manual the meaning of each parameter, especialy the one regarding to the hash columm (that was the cause for the 5 days installation) That migth not be the solution to your specific problem but it's worth a shot.
