Passing Information from 4ge's?

Is there a way to pass information from one standalone 4ge running another 4ge, back to the calling 4ge. Here is the situtation. We have two standalone 4ge's. The first 4ge (prog01) RUNS the second 4ge (prog02) passing it command line agruments indicating which row prog01 had last queried. If prog02 performs a query; how can I pass the new row information back to prog01? The two programs need to be standalone. Making one a function of the other won't help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
