Informix 9.4 und MSSQL2000
Posted in 2006
Sven needed to pull Informix 9.4 data into SQL Server 2000 for warehousing using DTS packages. The packages ran fine when launched manually, but failed when scheduled as jobs; he asked whether a special ODBC driver was needed. Respondents suggested checking the Informix ODBC DSN, services/hosts entries, and especially the account the job runs under: a scheduled DTS package run by SQL Agent needs sa/sysadmin rights or a proxy account. The poster said he would obtain the job history error message; no confirmed resolution is recorded in the thread.

Hi, For Datawarehouse anaylsis, we need to import data from our Informix Server to Our MSSQL 2000 Server. We are using DTS, this works as long as you start this packets maually. If we try to use to schedule these Jobs, it is not working. Are there special ODBC or whatever driver ? Thanks, Sven
Some ideas 1. Have you configured the Informix ODBC driver in SQL2000 server. 2. Have you added the services name to the services file in the windows server. 3. Are you using DNS, if not add the Informix server to the hosts file. 4. Does the user id in SQLServer have permissions to run the package. Thank you, Kannan Thirugnanam -----Original Message----- From: ids-bounces@iiug.org [mailto:ids-bounces@iiug.org] On Behalf Of Schuran, Sven Sent: Monday, January 30, 2006 9:28 AM To: ids@iiug.org Subject: Informix 9.4 und MSSQL2000 [6289] Hi, For Datawarehouse anaylsis, we need to import data from our Informix Server to Our MSSQL 2000 Server. Verify in the step tab of the job itself if there is another user mentioned. I had a similar problem, the job owner was sa and the user used to execute the job was a user Which did not have the sysadmin role. -----Original Message----- From: ids-bounces@iiug.org [mailto:ids-bounces@iiug.org] On Behalf Of Thirugnanam....
